The palace is located along the sea frontline in Dobrota and represents one of the most representative palaces of Baroque character in the Bay of Kotor. The palace was built by the renowned merchant and seaman of Dobrota, Đuro Dabinović, called Kokot (Rooster). Given the architectural style, the palace is assumed to have been based on a project by a Venetian architect.
Tradition has it that there was a wooden model of the palace, which has not been preserved.
With its main façade made of Korčula limestone, the palace represents a later building phase within a larger estate complex consisting of two older buildings and a cistern.
The goal of the restoration project was maintaining the authenticity of the palace and the estate with minimal intervention, while adapting it for contemporary use.
